Ingredients:

1 1/2 Cup Flour

3 Tsp Baking Powder

1 Tsp Salt

1 Tsp Sugar

1 Tsp Cracked Black Pepper

1 Tsp Chili Powder

1 1/4 Cup Milk

1 Egg

3 TBSP Melted Butter

2 Cups Sharp Cheddar, plus more for topping (we used Cabot)

1/2 Bag Parmesan Pepper Croutons

In blender or food processor process croutons until crumbs, set aside in a bowl. In a large mixing bowl combine dry ingredients and whisk out any clumps. Add milk, egg, and butter. Stir until blended. Add cheddar cheese and blend well into batter. When the waffle iron is hot pour a large cup of the waffle batter over the base and then sprinkle with crouton crumbs all over the top for crunchy goodness.

Cook until golden brown. Repeat until all of the batter has been transformed into amazingly good waffles. Sprinkle more shredded cheese over the top of the warm waffles before serving and a little drizzle of maple syrup or honey (optional, but highly recommended).

Enjoy!
