Taste of Vermont

Last Thursday, David and I attended the Fifth Annual Taste of Vermont Reception hosted by Senator Leahy, Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce, GBIC and VCB on Capitol Hill.

The Russell Senate Caucus room provided an elegant and historic backdrop for the event.  What a great party it was!  This was our third year of participation and each year is better than the last.

Senator Leahy and his wife Marcelle gather Vermont food and beverage producers and members of Vermont’s Convention Bureau, assisted by Bon Temps Gourmet, to host a reception for invited guests including Senators, Congressional Representatives, other government representatives and some lucky guests with ties to Vermont.

Olivia’s Croutons paired with Pete’s Greens to provide a salad that also included dressing from Vermont Natural Foods, tomatoes from Vermont Hydroponics and Blue Cheese from Jasper Hill.  Yumm!

With local beer, wine and iced cider, an outrageous selection of fabulous Vermont Cheeses, Ham from our neighbors at Dakin Farms, chicken salad from Rob at Misty Knoll farms, also in New Haven, over 60 Vermont companies donated products and time toward this fun event.
